One Lovely Blog Award

Today's mini-bites blog was supposed to be about wheat berries but something much more exciting happened! More exciting than wheat berries you say??! Oh yes indeed! Allow me to explain. As we speak I am sitting in Caffe Vita in Fremont sipping iced tea and getting caught up on my to-do list (in hopes of it becoming a ta-da list!). The sun is shining and there is a slight breeze in the Seattle air. Summer is finally here (and perfect timing too)! Since finals (and my first year of grad school!!!) have ended, I gave myself three days to relax and reflect (and clean my flat...yes it takes me three days because I am easily distracted. It is still a mystery to me how I have stayed focused on Mangia, Gioia! for eight months!!). But now it is back to the real world and what a wonderful surprise I received! My wonderful veggie friend, Vegan Miam, notified me that she nominated Mangia, Gioia! for the One Lovely Blog Award!!! This completely put a smile on my face and warmed my heart! Here Are Seven Fun Facts About Me:
1. I read Scientific American for leisure (I probably shouldn't have led with that one but no...keep reading...I promise you I'm not boring haha).
2. I am half Sicilian and half Cuban.
3. My idea of a perfect day includes: hiking, eating amazing food, an urban festival, eating amazing food, a comedy club, eating amazing food...(did I mention eating amazing food??).
4. I believe in true love.
5. My favorite color is purple.
6. I have a master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and have taught people English from all over the world.
7. Best moment of my life: when a student from Ethiopia I previously taught emailed me and said she was now tutoring English to students after school and she wanted to be a teacher when she grew up because of me.
